when they get real bad, you can even tell with the car on the ground. The 'test', is to put it in the air (same test on the ground), grab the top of the tire, and pull perpendicular to the direction of the tire. If the wheel moves, you have bad wheel bearings. I just did them on my daily, which sucked, but it was only 15 bucks in parts. The one-piece Nissan ones seem like they would be easier though. I note that Courtesy marks the bearing as the 'inner' bearing, but doesn't have an outer one? I assume its one piece.
